Cosson assumes new role

Heather Cosson, former staff writer, of Sumter recently assumed her new position as assistant editor of The Patriot student newspaper.

She was promoted to the position at the end of the fall semester.

"Heather was one of our strongest staff writers, and this promotion will al- low her to expand her capabilities," Editor Lindsay Reilly said. "I'm confident she will help our newspaper to constantly improve."

As assistant editor, the junior mass communication student's duties will include overseeing delivery of the paper, conducting evaluations and maintaining the Web site, among other tasks.

"I'm very excited to have this opportunity with The Patriot," Cosson said. "I'm looking forward to being an integral part of paper's staff and continuing to improve it."
