Sophomore Jerica Monique Benjamin of Dillon died Dec. 14 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

The vehicle she was driving hit another car head-on in Florence on Claussen Road, according to (Florence) Morning News reports.

The biology/pre-nursing major was employed at Blackmon's Groceries in Dillon and Honda of Timmonsville.

While attending Dillon High School, Benjamin participated 4H Club, Dillon Christian Students, Spanish Club, Teacher Helper and marching band as clarinet section leader.
Her funeral was held Dec. 19 at Mars Hill Bibleway Church.

Her burial was held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dillon.
