Improvements include new lighting, doors, windows, and air and heating units, as well as resurfacing of the pool. The drop ceiling also was removed.
Damage had been caused by dehumidification and corrosion, university officials said.
Prior to the recent renovations, there were no major construction efforts to reverse the deterioration of the facility. The indoor pool opened in 1973.
